“Medea at the Dew Drop” is an alt cabaret evening of original songs and witty banter based on the classic story of Medea, a wronged woman (#metoo) who cracks and seeks revenge by hurting those she loves most. Recontextualized to contemporary times, Medea has been kicked out of New York City and is living in police-monitored exile in Passaic, New Jersey, where she has taken up song, as well as anger management classes, to keep herself occupied, and perhaps even find meaning and redemption in her life. In this show, Medea tells her own story, turning one of the most demonized characters in the Western canon into a figure whose depths of love, agony, and rage are imminently relatable and utterly relevant to our times.
